My best friend likes me ... oh man !?

my best firend is a guy and some people find that weird buh yea.it turns out he likes me now buh i don't know wat to say to him. my cousin keeps telling me to go out wit him and see if it works out but if i do and it doesn't work out then it'll never be the same betwen us. i love him so much as a friend and i don't wanna lose him . advice?
