Is this introductary paragraph good? oedipus rex?

Greek tragedies are well-known for a tragic hero to have the characteristics of fear, pity, disgrace, and hubris. In one particular story, Sophocles’ tragic hero is Oedipus who has had many misfortunes and was cursed from the beginning of his life. At the start of his life he was abandoned by his family and was sent far away to another Kingdom. He later departs his home to restrain from an awful prophecy. While traveling, he murdered the King of Thebes which was his father whom he did not know and then solves the riddle of the Sphinx. After solving the riddle he becomes the new King of Thebes and marries his mother.
